George Drummer, of the Bronx, was arrested by Nassau County Police on Thursday, March 2 in New Cassel.

According to the department, officers responded to an auto accident in the area of Old County Road and Post Avenue where a man driving a 2019 Toyota Tundra struck a 2023 Toyota Camry causing severe damage.

A 20-year-old woman driving the Camry suffered minor injuries, and a juvenile passenger, age 6, was not injured, police said.

The driver of the Tundra, identified as Drummer, left the scene on foot and was stopped in the parking lot of 1636 Old County Road in Westbury where he was taken into custody without incident, police said.

During an investigation, it was determined that the same Tundra struck an unoccupied, parked 2001 Infinity, in front of 640 Bryant Street, New Cassel, causing heavy damage, and left the scene.

Police also determined the truck was stolen from a parking lot in New Cassel but had not yet been reported, police said.

Drummer was charged with:

  • Grand larceny
  • Criminal possession of stolen property
  • DWI
  • Leaving the scene of an incident

He will be arraigned on Friday, March 3, in Hempstead.
